Apple & Cinnamon Crumble

Apple & Cinnamon Crumble – soft, sweet and cinnamon-y apple with a crisp and crumbly topping ❤️

It’s that time of year again when the big jumpers come out, Strictly Come Dancing has returned to our screens and we all need a hearty pud we can pour a whole load of custard on! Yum!

Cosy comfort food is needed and a scrummy apple crumble is just perfect! The soft stewed apple and cinnamon combo is delish – this is a flavour combination made in baking heaven I love it so much!

Apple crumble is such a classic winter pudding I didn’t want to make any modern additions – I just wanted to admire it and then eat it in all its simple splendour ❤️ Theres not much better than curling up on a cold night with a bowl of warm crumble and custard – so good!!!

It’s a super simple recipe that I’m sure you’ll love – go on, treat yourself!

400g apples (I used eating apples) – around 4 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped into 1cm cubes

2tbsp light brown sugar

2tsp cinnamon

For the crumble-

200g plain flour

125g caster sugar

125g butter

4tbsp Demerara sugar

Preheat the oven to 190C

1 – Mix the chopped Apple with the sugar and cinnamon and place in a pie dish. I used a heart shape one – just ensure its deep enough for the crumble topping!

2 – For the crumble- rub the butter into the sugar and flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over the Apple mix until it’s completely cover and all the apple is concealed.

3 – Sprinkle the Demerara sugar on top and bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown on top, don’t forget to check the Apple is nice and soft in the middle too!

Serve warm with custard, cream or ice cream! Yum!

Happy Baking!
