Banana and Chocolate Chip Baked Donuts

Banana & Chocolate Chip Baked Donuts – Soft, light and airy. Delicious banana and chocolate donuts, with a extra chocolate topping!

Hello bakers! I’ve chosen to re-visit one of my favourite donut recipes. Baked donuts are so versatile, you can pretty much add what you like, flavour them to your tastes, and they will always be super delicious. I’ve created a couple of different baked donut recipes now such as my Carrot Cake Baked Donuts … they were super yummy!

Unlike the traditional donuts these are made without frying them in oil which totally makes them healthier right? Plus, these donuts are made with very very ripe bananas and to me that makes them 100% good for me! Fruit is good for you. The chocolate is a bonus!

This recipe is easy to make and the banana flavour really comes through in perfect partnership with the chocolate chips. Light, airy and fluffy they were one of my favourite recipes when I first posted them and they still are. They really don’t take long to bake as well, under 10 minutes in the oven and you’ll have fresh banana donut to enjoy. What could be better? Exactly, nothing.

When I first posted this recipe I topped them with a LOT of Nutella. You can totally still do this but I’ve changed the recipe to be dipped in milk chocolate instead. Dipping them in chocolate and letting them set adds a little crunch when you bite the donut. A set chocolate top is so good and very satisfying!

You will need a donut pan for this recipe, you can often find them online. When I first made baked donuts it was very much an American trend so my tins had to be imported but now, thanks to Amazon, everything is readily available. I’ve had my donut pan for 6 years now and it’s still going strong.
